about me

I create medical imagery that is as beautiful as it is educational.
 

Often times science can be difficult to conceptualize. My job is to transform complex subject matter into something easily understandable. I create medical imagery that is as beautiful as it is educational.

Background:

I received a double degree in biology and art from Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill., where I followed a curriculum simultaneously heavy in science and traditional studio art. I finished my Master of Science in Biomedical Visualization from the University of Illinois at Chicago, where I honed my 2D illustrative skills, and learned the technology behind 3D modeling and animation. While in the graduate program, I completed research in the fetal development of cleft palate abnormalities. My work experience has consisted of animation, illustration and design within the pharmaceutical and health care industries.

After hours:

When I’m not reconstructing bones or portraying the curious habits of proteins, I’m usually running wild with a camera in my hand. I love going on road trips with my partner and have only six U.S. states left to visit. I enjoy hiking, cycling and strength training.
